Fees for Psychological Services
Psychological services provided by Registered Psychologists are not currently covered by the Nova Scotia Health Card (MSI). Some private insurance plans will pay for services from a registered Clinical Psychologist. Payments for therapy, counselling and assessment are due at the end of each Telepsychology appointment and an e-receipt is provided with for filing for reimbursement with your insurance provider (There is no HST on psychological services).
*Individual Therapy and Counselling 50 minutes $200.00
*Intake Assessment 90 minutes $300.00
*Couples therapy 50 minutes $200.00
Please note that all fees for psychological services are consistent with those recommended by the Association of Psychologists of Nova Scotia (APNS) who currently recommend $210.00 for 50 minutes of therapy.
University Students
Mount Saint Vincent, St. Mary's, and Dalhousie university students have coverage through their health plan for reimbursement of the costs for therapy services. Please see you plan for details.
Veterans (VAC) and RCMP
Dr. MacNeil is a provider and accepts MEDAVIE Blue Cross for payment of psychological services. He conducts full Disability Assessments and provides treatment services for Veterans and RCMP through MEDAVIE Blue Cross. Referrals are accepted from VAC and RCMP Case Managers.
Workshops & Training
Dr. Brad MacNeil, R. Psych, CHE provides workshops and formal training in leadership, cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive remediation therapy (CRT), exposure with response prevention (ERP) for body dissatisfaction, brief interventions, group dynamics and therapy process, ethics in mental health, knowledge translation and core competencies in mental health and addictions. Please email to inquire about scheduling Dr. MacNeil, R. Psych. for training. Training fees per day range between $500-$1500.
